Descriptions:

I have long been interested in the history of African Americans migrating to Paris France in large numbers during the first half of the 20th century. We have long heard of Josephine Baker, Richard Wright, and James Baldwin, but I wanted to learn about more who came to Paris, and more importantly why. Dr. Monique Y. Wells, a fellow European expat, has lived in Paris for 30 years. She gives us a deeper look into the history of the first African Americans who came to Paris some of whom migrated before the first World War. Dr Wells co-owns Entree to Black Paris with her husband Tom. Entree to Black Paris is a travel planning service based in Paris that specializes in tours that explore the history and culture of African Americans and the larger African diaspora as well as the current experiences of people of African descent in Paris. If you are in Paris make sure you take one of their tours. Website – https://www.entreetoblackparis.com Instagram –   / entreetoblackparis
